artineuaura Arti Upadhyay, founder of Neuaura animal-friendly footwear, is committed to bringing uncompromising fashion footwear to animal-friendly consumers. Neuaura was launched out of her concern for the welfare of the animals and the environment, as well as her love for fashion. In the last few years, she has become extremely inspired by the innovation and quality of non-leather materials.

The leather industry is very resource-intensive and toxic to the environment. Today, 90 percent of leather tanning is done with travalent chromium, a heavy metal that contaminates soil, and is used for processing the hides of cattle, goats, lambs, pigs, and sheep.

Neuaura shoes do not contain any leather, fur, silk, wool, shell, or pearls. No animal by-products are used during manufacturing and/or finishing processes.

She has authored literally thousands of articles and was named “the foremost expert on green living” by Body & Soul magazine (2009).
