The Green Children

green-children-foundationThe Green Children are a European pop duo that has worked to fight poverty. Their new song, “Hear Me Now,” is available on iTunes as of August 1st – and 50% of all proceeds go to the Whole Planet Foundation, which is helping to provide money for developing microfinancing in India. Microfinancing is based off of Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus’s microcredit pioneering efforts – Yunus will also be awarded the 2009 Presidential Medal of Freedom on August 12th, joining such activists as Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, and Nelson Mandela. The pop duo also paired with Yunus to create The Green Children Foundation, which has provided $500,000 for children’s hospitals in India. The photo to the left is of Yunus and The Green Children on a Green Children Foundation project in Bangladesh. They are doing an incredible job to fight poverty – that’s what I call an eco-revolution!
