ageofstupidClimate change is definitely a hot button issue, but until Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth hit theaters across the country, it was a topic often left untouched by the masses. The newest film to explore climate change is called The Age of Stupid, and it makes it’s NYC premiere tonight while simultaneously being broadcast to theaters in over 45 countries.

From director Franny Armstrong and producer John Battsek, The Age of Stupid stars Pete Postlethwaite as a man living alone in the terrifying future world of 2055. As he looks at old footage from 2008, and wonders why we didn’t stop climate change when we had the chance, viewers are left to ponder the very same question.

Released in UK cinemas in March, it’s finally making its North American debut tonight with an event that includes a panel with Armstrong, Postlethwaite, Kofi Annan, and Gillian Anderson, plus performances from Moby and Thom Yorke.
