Skin Toner from the Garden – Annie’s Advice

carrot-juiceThe most nourishing, healing, and beautifying skin care products are grown, and this formula is one of a three-part Mayan formula that is about as good as it gets for the skin. I uncovered the formula from a friend who had worked with a Mexican archaeologist who decoded it from an ancient text. Originally called Zazil Toner, I’ve adapted it for the contemporary U.S. kitchen garden. This formula is not only full of skin-loving nutrients, but natural alpha-hydroxy acids that slough off dead skin cells.

1/4 cup cucumber juice
1/8 cup carrot juice
1/2 cup spearmint infusion
1/4 cup chamomile infusion
1/2 cup lemon juice

Make the cucumber juice and carrot juice in a juicer. Make strong infusions of spearmint and chamomile, and let cool. Combine everything in a glass jar; shake to blend. Massage a bit into your face. Rinse.
