Pacific Trash Vortex — ECO-FAIL!!

Submitted by Lily on Tuesday, 4 August 2009View Comments

2_mugs1 So, I just learned about the Pacific “trash vortex,” also called the “garbage patch” and the Pacific’s “plastic soup.” Basically, it’s a mass of plastics and other trash floating in the Pacific just below the water’s surface. This trash vortex covers an area that is estimated to be TWICE THE SIZE OF THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES. Yowza! Check out some photos here and here … yikes!! Eco-FAIL!
