Fishing For PCBs – Eco-Fail
The other day, I read in the local newspaper that GE, which had been dredging the Hudson River to clean it after having dumped over 1 million pounds of PCBs into the river, was just called by the EPA to stop their dredging because it was, in fact, stirring up the PCBs and sending them in large quantities downstream. A few days later, I was driving along the Hudson near NYC and saw countless people out on the river fishing – clearly unaware that they were in highly PCB-contaminated waters. ECO-FAIL.
