Fair Game

00813_800Every woman needs a little black dress, whether it’s for work or a night out on the town. Just because it’s a wardrobe staple, doesn’t mean we can’t be picky. We’re looking for style and substance, and Fair Indigo is proud to bring it to us.

In 2005, the company was founded with a very specific vision in mind: creating stylish, affordable clothing without the exploitation of workers and the environment. Every item that bears the Fair Indigo label is made in facilities that pay fair and meaningful wages. These cooperatives and factories are visited by Fair Indigo to survey conditions, and they work with social auditors around the world to independently verify that their facilities adhere to strict ethical codes.

Along with their own merchandise, the site also offers products from other mission-oriented companies with socially responsible values: fair trade, ecologically responsible or recycled materials, support of impoverished craftspeople, and local production (made in the US).

We’re loving their Matte Jersey V-Neck Dress, which is now available in fig (shown at left) and classic black. Check out their site for more lovely pieces, including an organic line.
