Executives Have it Wrong about Green – Eco-Win
According to Harvard Business Publishing, a recent McKinsey & Co. survey of executives shows that “the environment is perceived as being less critical to the public than it was a year ago (49% of respondents marked it as a top concern of the public, compared with 57% in 2008).” Meanwhile, according to Reuters, “U.S. supermarket sales of environmentally sustainable or “ethical” products — from energy-efficient light bulbs to organic produce — will rise about 8.7 percent in 2009 to nearly $38 billion, according to a recent study by Packaged Facts, a market research provider.” In this case following the money trail seems a more informed approach than listening to executives.
