Cinnamon & Spice Simmering Air Freshener

Submitted by Annie on Wednesday, 4 November 2009No Comment

cinnamonOne of the most warming and homey scents ever is the smell of mulled apple cider with lots of cinnamon. Here we use these classic ingredients to make an easy air freshener.

Besides the cozy, fall-like scent of cinnamon, the spice has the added benefit of being highly antimicrobial. Cinnamon is the brown bark of the cinnamon tree. Ceylong cinnamon is considered the “true cinnamon,” while Chinese cinnamon is considered “cassia.”

Cinnamon & Spice Simmering Air Freshener
Ingredients
* 2 sticks or more of cinnamon
* 5 or 6 whole cloves
* 8 cups apple cider, or water, as needed

Combine all the ingredients in a pan on the stove. Bring to a boil, and then turn down to a simmer. Replace the liquid as needed since it will evaporate.
