Chicken Claustrophobia – Eco-Fail

Today, my friend and I were walking down the street when we heard a sudden flux of bird noises. I kept walking, used to the sound (I live in the woods, after all!), but stopped in my tracks when my friend said, in a shocked voice, “OH MY GOD!” Turning around, my eyes zoomed in on a cargo truck PACKED with chickens in crates. I’m talking crates piled one on top of another and packed in rows with an inch between them – if that – with multiple chickens per crate. If I weren’t a vegetarian already, that would have definitely converted me. ECO-FAIL!
